Red Point, Wester Ross

River Wharfe, Otley
New year, new technique. This is oil paint and turpentine, using the turps like water. The result is not the same as a painting in watercolour, but the liquid nature of the medium makes the physical act of painting similar.
cool painting. so its stormy up there? interesting technique for a storm.
it’s very stormy, there’s branches in the street. I will try a storm pic
Lovely – such light and looseness. Did you prepare your paper before you started? I would kind of expect the liquidness of the paint would bleed into unprepared paper.
Thank you Anna, I primed the paper with gesso. You make me think I should try one without – to see what happens.
Do – I’ll be interested to see how it goes!
